Microfibre Beach Towels - Turtles and Family Tree Designs
We are very excited to present our HUGE (180 x 90cm) TAWK Microfibre Beach Towels together with carry pouch with Family Tree and Turtle artwork from Aboriginal Artist Loretta Egan!
About the Artist
Loretta Egan is a proud Yamatji woman born in Carnarvon, In 1981, she moved to Alice Springs Central Australia, where she was given permission to do dot painting. Loretta acknowledges that she learnt the art form and received permission to practice from traditional landowners.
One of Loretta's paintings was presented to the Queen on a visit to Perth! A year later, she was approached to do a special piece that would go on to be a part of an Art Exhibition in London in which the guest of honour was also Her Majesty, the Queen of England.
We are obviously very proud that Loretta agreed to work with us and you can find more of her designs here.
About the Design
'Family Tree'
The circle in the centre represents home with the U shapes representing people/family members sitting around home. The branches extending out represents growth and then the smaller circles representing orbs of past family members. Aboriginal people believe they never leave us.
When you are travelling Australia, you will be reminded of family members back home and they will be with you in your mind. ❤
'Turtles'
No significant story with the design BUT a delightful and colourful turtle ocean scene. Perfect for our amazing beaches.
About the Towel and Pouch
The Pouch
The Pouch is not only a great way to store your towel BUT it can also be used for other reasons. ie: a bathroom bag for the kids to take their items to the shower block, a bag to store their own items that they'd like to take to the beach and no doubt you'll find many more!
